Factual inaccuracies and biases—whether as misinformation or disinformation—are widespread across newspapers, magazines, and blogs. We created Aletheia to help you painlessly determine what's true and what isn't.
Aletheia generates clickable highlights to fact-check statements, analyze potential bias, and contexualize complex topics. Annotations cite creditable sources, which you can immediately visit and investigate yourself.
Context Annotations
Annotations that provide extra context to topics that are complex, obscure, or could otherwise benefit from more plain information attached to them.

Fact-Check Annotations
Annotations that directly fact-check when authors make assertions of truth. Aletheia tries to cite primary sources that get you as close as possible to the original, underlying reporting.

Bias-Check Annotations
Annotations that look for factual inconstinencies in statements of opinion, in order to call out author bias and explicitly warn of when the article attempts to coerce you to a particular point of view.

Overview
Lastly, Aletheia also generates an article summary in an overview tab. Unlike most summary products, Aletheia's overview focuses on telling you which inaccuracies or biases to look out for before reading. Aletheia also includes background information about the author and publication, if it is available, to give you a sense of how their views contribute to the piece.
